Racism
These days, racism seems to have become a hot topic. Many have made it their mission to hunt down racism. Don't get me wrong, I am a person of a minority that was discriminated against in the world state as well as here in Canada. I would be a fool to believe racism do not exist. I simply do not believe it is everywhere. Furthermore, I do not believe in calling a situation "racial discrimination" at the hint of unfairness. In the US, they have the problem of Racism against the blacks and he latinos; in Canada, while the blacks would like to draw attention to their "unfair treatment", but nothing in comparison to what is happening in the US, our indigenous people are the ones who experience racism the same way the situation is in the US.Here is my opinion of the whole ordeal with Racism: when you want to call out racism when it is not there, you are contributing to the problem instead of solving it. Our intolerance of racism should be the same when dealing with people who bring disorder to societies. What do I mean? When we "blankety" call "racial profiling" when we see many blacks or indigenous arrested or in jail, they are all victims of racism, there is something wrong with that. No doubt, some of them ended up there as a result of racism, some received harsher sentence because of their race, but, there are those who were there because they have committed crimes that deserve the punishment (some even commit such crime repeatedly).I cannot repeat this often enough: correlation does not imply causation. We need to deal with racism, but must be by the right way. Calling someone a racist when they are not, is not combating racism. When calling all white people or conservatives racists, that, in itself, is just serious as racism itself. Trying to play hero by calling out racism whether it is or not is contributing to racism. What must we do?First, don't jump at the first sign of racism, it may not be what you think. Second, when there may be racism, find out more, not from the websites of activists, but from more local sources. Facts must be checked. Lastly, if there is racism, do not waste time with angry protests, but gather support in contacting those in power to make change. Do not make enemies, but convince them to see things as it is.
